Forward-thinking Danish electro-R&B artist Fjer is the moniker of Maja Barløse. As a rare triple-threat singer/songwriter/producer, she wields a command of high-caliber songwriting and has a distinctive voice that is both airy and soulful.

 

Fjer (pronounced “Fee-YAIR”) translates to “Feather(s)” in Danish - a peculiar choice given her naturally boisterous voice and powerful live performances. The songstress has seen early successes ranging from the independent release of two EP’s, A New Start (2013) and the conceptual Beautiful Home (2014), with early plaudits coming from 2DopeBoyz, YRB Magazine and OkayPlayer whilst having key showcases in NYC’s staple B.B Kings, PIANOS, Rockwood Music Hall and The Bitter End under her belt.

Fjer's last single Her Turn was making the rounds after being selected for Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds’ playlist, and now with her new single ‘Better’ being included in their flagship ‘Weekly Buzz’ playlist, Scandinavian mega-chain H&M’s Official In Store Playlist and a championed by The Line Of Best Fit as their top track of the week, she further cements her position within the empowering female-fronted scene. The debut album from this rising Danish powerhouse is expected to drop in the very near future on indie label QUINTIC.
